Dutch watch brand Pellikaan Timing announces new model

Dutch watch brand Pellikaan Timing has announced a new model, the ‘Hendrik Lorentz’.

The new timepiece is a tribute to the eponymous Nobel Prize winning Dutch physicist, who won in 1902 and is regarded historically as being the ‘scientific father’ of Albert Einstein.

The design is “inspired by the way of thinking by Lorentz” and his local time theory. In this design his local time is found in the scales in the dial, which are separate for each hand.

Additionally the dial is made of pearled silver with matte black hands. This combination was used in scientific instruments and helps to make the watch accurately readable. The engine of this timepiece is the automatic Swiss Soprod A10-2 movement which can be seen through the sapphire display back.

Hubert Pellikaan, owner of Pellikaan Timing, said: “Although we are renowned for producing the robust Flying Dutchman models I have always wanted to develop a sophisticated dress watch.

“This worked out well in my opinion with the new Hendrik Lorentz and it is a beautiful addition to the collection.”
