Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office hosts second successful student event
The Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office stage a successful second iteration of its ‘Make Your Mark’ event at the Goldsmiths’ Hall on Friday and Saturday last week.
The event, which is aimed at students pursuing careers in precious metal jewellery-making, played host to around 750 students over the two days, and was attended by a crop of 29 exhibitors offering talks and advice on tools, bullion, trade services and even Intellectual Property.
Jewellery designer Theo Fennell was on hand to give a talk to the students, as was Michael Wainwright, managing director of Boodles.
The Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office offered all of the attendees a ‘hallmarking package’ free of charge, which included a ten-year registration with the organisation, some software designed for laser hallmarking, and also a Goldsmith’s Company hallmarking punch.
