Gold rings worth £10,000 stolen from Dorset jewellers
Police have released CCTV footage after 50 gold rings were stolen from a jewellers in Poole, Dorset.
The incident, which happened around 2.10pm on Saturday 18 February at Mortons Jewellers on the town’s high street, saw the theft of 50 rings that are believed to be worth around £10,000.
A member of staff placed a tray of men’s gold rings on the countertop near to the front of the store and turned around to pick up another ring to put back into the tray. As he did this a man peered around the doorway and picked up the whole tray before he made off without attempting to pay.
Zach Dredge, a police constable at Poole police, said: “I am now able to release a CCTV image of the suspect in the hope that someone can identify him.
“This appears to have been an opportunist theft and no threats were made to staff or the public during the incident. If you know who this man is please contact police or call Crimestoppers anonymously.”
