Inhorgenta Munich trade show cancelled due to Covid
Exhibition centre Messe München originally postponed the show from February to April
Inhorgenta Munich, the European jewellery platform, has announced the cancellation of its upcoming trade show at the Messe München exhibition centre in München, Germany.
The show’s organisers had originally postponed the show from February to April, with the aim to provide exhibitors with increased planning security.
However, international restrictions on travel due to Covid-19 and a slow European vaccine rollout has forced the show to be postponed to next year.
The show will be held again in Munich, from the 11 to 14 February 2022.
Klaus Dittrich, chairman and CEO of Messe München, said: “We have therefore decided to cancel Inhorgenta Munich 2021. Unfortunately, recent developments in connection with the coronavirus pandemic have not moved in the direction we had hoped.
“Far-reaching international travel and contact restrictions are still in place. In addition, the spreading of the mutated virus poses a significant risk in terms of the further infection process.”
He added: “Even if an in-person trade fair were possible in the first half of the year thanks to the local situation in Munich, the Inhorgenta Much would not be able to live up to its claim of being a highly successful international flagship event.”
