Christie’s has announced it will be holding the Magnificent Jewels live auction on 13 April and an online sale from 8-20 April which will include 217 lots, with estimates ranging from $10,000 (£7,290) to $2.5m (£1.8m).

The auction will include a selection of colourless diamonds, coloured diamonds, and gemstones, along with signed pieces by Belperron, Bvlgari, Cartier, Graff, Harry Winston, Hemmerle, JAR, Lacloche, Tiffany & Co, and Van Cleef & Arpels.

The 13 April auction will be led by ‘The Perfect Palette,’ a trio of coloured diamonds being offered as separate lots, which include a “fancy vivid blue” diamond ring of 2.13 carats with prices ranging from $2m (£1.5m) to $3m (£2.2m).

Also included in the auction will be a selection of white diamonds led by a “pear brilliant-cut” diamond ring of 38.04 carats, Type IIa which will range from $2.5m (£1.8m) – $3.5m (£2.5m); an emerald-cut diamond of 14.50 carats, D colour, IF clarity, Type IIa ranging from $700,000 (£510,281) – $1m (£728,973.

Coloured gemstones are also represented by a Burmese ruby ring by F.J. Cooper, a prominent Philadelphia jeweller which will be on auction for $1.2m (£874,118) – $2.2m (£1.6m) and a Colombian emerald ring by Cartier with prices ranging from $150,000 (£109,334) – $200,000 (£145,774).

Additionally featured are 12 separate lots containing groupings of unmounted stones spanning diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds with estimates ranging from $2,000 (£1,457) to $30,000 (£21,864) all offered without reserve.
