Sophie Bille Brahe launches new David Hockney inspired collection

Jewellery designer, Sophie Bille Brahe, has announced the launch of her new collection inspired by David Hockney’s A Bigger Splash, painted at his home in Los Angeles in 1967.
For the collection, the brand has designed the “Splash” series which features five earrings and three rings in 18 carat gold with handset diamonds.
Sophie Bille Brahe is a Copenhagen based fine jewellery designer who graduated from London’s Royal College of Arts.
The brand is sold in some of the worlds’ most luxurious and fine jewellery spaces and stores and offers pieces that reflect the designer’s “thrill for storytelling” and “avant-garde” design.
Brahe said: “The collection started with a copy of David Hockney’s painting A Bigger Splash. It’s a painting I know really well, but seeing it again, for the first time the splash itself made me really think about inspiration, the moment when it comes together.
“The ideas splash up in a split second – and it’s like in the painting, where you don’t see the diver. Who really knows where it comes from, this perfect moment? And I love Hockney’s sun-filled Los Angeles. A world without clouds is so appealing right now.”
