To mark the centennial anniversary of the Royal British Legion, the Poppy Shop has announced a new collaboration with Virginia Lewis-Jones on a commemorative jewellery collection, Bluebird in memory of her late mother, Dame Vera Lynn.

Each piece in the new jewellery collection features freshwater pearls and a signature heart, which houses a small Bluebird motif.

In addition to the Bluebird collection, the Royal British Legion has worked closely with Lewis-Jones to design a crystal and pearl poppy brooch.

Lewis-Jones said: “My mother never left her wartime roots behind. She continued to work with and support veterans and military charities, including the Royal British Legion throughout her life, so it was important to capture the essence of my mother and pay tribute to her own service in this collection.

“That’s why each piece features a miniature Bluebird or a reference to one of my mother’s iconic songs.”

Nikki Garman, head of product and trading for the Royal British Legion, added: “We feel honoured to be able to pay tribute to the late Dame Vera Lynn with this elegant jewellery collection and poppy brooch.

“Working alongside Virginia on these limited-edition pieces and hearing the fond memories she has of her mother, has been a truly wonderful experience.”
