The online retailer will also be acquiring many of the suppliers that Marcia Lanyon Limited has built relationships with over the years

The Curious Gem Limited has announced it is expanding its pearl offering by acquiring the pearl business from Marcia Lanyon Limited, a London-based gem-dealer.

Marcia Lanyon will also be passing on many of the suppliers that she has built relationships with over the years, which the Curious Gem said will maintain the “high standard and wide choice” previously offered by Marcia Lanyon Ltd.

Marcia Lanyon Ltd said its customers can have continuity of supply through this transfer.

Victoria Brown, founder of the Curious Gem, said: “I am delighted to be taking over Marcia’s pearl business and expanding our existing range of pearls. We will continue to supply the high-quality pearls that Marcia is known for and welcome enquiries from anyone who is looking for a particular product.”

Marcia Lanyon added: “I felt that it was important for my customers to know where they can go for the pearls that we have previously supplied.  I was also keen to continue supporting the reliable, family-run businesses in the Far East that I know so well.”
