Hayes & Lake joins Created in the UK scheme
According to the NAJ, 93% of consumers today would pay more for a British-made product compared to 43% five years ago
Hayes and Lake has been issued the ‘Created in the UK’ stamp, a scheme to prove jewellery has been made in the UK and allowing jewellery, silverware and related products created in the UK, to be marked and promoted as such.
Created in the UK was launched by the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ), and the optional additional mark can be struck alongside the hallmark on products that were made in the UK in accordance with the Trade Descriptions Act (1968).
According to research by the NAJ, 93% of consumers today would pay more for a British-made product compared to 43% five years ago.
The research also revealed that knowing a retailer is selling goods that are made in the UK is still one of the main things that can give shoppers confidence.
Additionally, laboratory grown diamonds bring “added confidence” that the diamonds we use are not mined from the Earth.
