Rock Lobster has announced it will no longer reopen its bricks-and-mortar shop due to “circumstances surrounding the property”.
The Worcester-based jewellers said that its landlords now have plans to develop the shop into residential apartments, and in light of the ongoing Covid-19 disruption, it has decided to not move to another property at this time.
The business will now work from its office in Pershore for the foreseeable future, and continue trading online, having enjoyed “very successful” online trading for the past eight years.
It is still able to provide a collection and delivery service locally for all jewellery repairs, and wedding customers are able to have wedding ring collections brought to their home, alongside a consultation.
In a statement on their site, its owners said: “The world is changing and recent months have spurred us into action to change the way we do things.
“We would like to say a big thank you to our fantastic and loyal staff, we have had great times and much fun working together and to all our wonderful customers who have been a joy to serve over the last 22 years in our lovely shop.”
They added: “Everything is changing, we realise that the future of retail is moving more towards online and we will do our best to help customers have a more personalised service.
“For those who would prefer a private consultation then we can offer a home or office appointment service. We wish the very best future and happiness for everyone we know, let’s all keep moving forward and be positive, thank you as always.”
