Gloucestershire jewellery burglary leads to appeal for return
The burglary occurred at some point between 12 and 18 November in Queen’s Acre, Newnham-on-Severn, Gloucestershire, and the haul contained some distinctive items. Police are appealing for information in case anyone has seen or been offered the pieces for sale.
Amongst the items stolen were distinctive pieces like a heavy gold necklace with a glass tube containing gold particles; a single teardrop-shaped diamond on a fine chain; a silver charm bracelet with charms including a spiders web, a champagne bottle, a Spanish dancer and a 21 charm; a gold round locket with a bird engraved on the front; a gold half-moon brooch with small pearls; a gold butterfly brooch with a safety chain; a channel-set gold eternity ring with sapphires and diamonds; and a gold locket and chain with two silver footprints.
Other items include a orange/pink coral necklace and drop earrings set; an oval pale blue sapphire on a gold chain surrounded by diamonds; a gold heart-shaped St Christopher on a chain; a Turkish gold bangle with three patterned sections; and an amber and silver bracelet and matching stud earrings.
Also taken was a vintage Omega technical stopwatch with a silver case; a wind-up Longines day/date calendar watch with a stainless steel case, expanding bracelet and white face; a men’s gold signet ring with a black onyx stone; a men’s gold signet ring engraved with initials; a ladies’ antique gold watch with a white face and expanding bracelet; a pair of gold engraved oval cufflinks with initials on one side and a lady’s name on the other; a pair of silver 2012 Olympic cufflinks featuring the Olympic rings; and an antique Rotary watch with a square gold case, yellow face and brown leather strap.
A wooden oblong jewellery box with a sliding tray inside it, which held some miniature Swarovski crystal animals, was also been stolen.
A similar burglary happened on the same street on 17 November, where some cash and a plain gold men’s signet ring and other items were taken.
Gloucestershire Police have asked for anyone with any information about either of these incidents or any suspicious behaviour in the area recently to contact them on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Residents are being urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour.
