Vrai partners with Malaika and launches new Aura Solitaire Bracelets

Vrai fine jewellery has announced its partnership with Noella Coursaris Musunka and the non-profit she founded in 2007, Malaika. Malaika’s mission is to empower girls and their families through education and community transformation. Its community-led ecosystem provides clean water, vocational, agricultural, athletic, and health programmes. Both the Malaika School and Community Center are powered by solar energy and Malaika grows organic produce onsite, providing meals for students and staff. Following the partnership, Vrai has unveiled its new Aura Solitaire Bracelets that were inspired by drawings from the girls of Malaika School. The new bracelets were launched at a fundraiser event in London, where Musunka and Mona Akhavi, president of Vrai, co-hosted a lunch with a select crowd of women in leadership positions, donors, and tastemakers. The bracelets were sold at the event and are now available online with a percentage of the proceeds from the sale donated to Malaika. Additionally, this Fall, Vrai channels will continue to celebrate Musunka as its ambassador, culminating with Malaika’s designed bracelet, the Aura solitaire, being featured as the “hero product” of its ‘Giving Tuesday’ initiative at the end of November. Through the partnership Vrai and Malaika will raise awareness and reinforce its commitment to protecting the planet and its people. The partnership kicked off in July, with Vrai funding a water well in the community of Kalebuka near the Malaika School, in the DRC. Vrai now provides drinking water to 1500 villagers who were previously forced to desert their neighbourhood because of the water pollution caused by farming and domestic waste poured into the community’s local river. Akhavi said: “Noella represents the epitome of a creator committed to developing positive solutions in the world. She has been dedicated to empowering girls and the next generation of changemakers through several programs at Malaika and beyond. “We’re thrilled to start a partnership with Noella and Malaika, which will run until the end of November and celebrate the common values and commitment we share at Vrai to give back and protect the planet and its people.” Musunka added: “This is an incredibly special partnership and one that’s so close to my heart. Vrai’s integral role in funding the building of a well in the area of Kalebuka and now their creation of these two bracelets inspired by students of Malaika demonstrates their commitment to our mission and their belief in empowering a community in the Congo.
