Pandora appoints new GM for British Isles and new CCO

Sonia Lopez Delgado will manage the group’s second largest cluster while Massimo Basei will be responsible for all the nine market clusters

Pandora has announced the appointment of Sonia Lopez Delgado as new general manager of British Isles (BRIS) from 1 July, the company’s second largest cluster.

She currently holds the position as general manager of the Northern Europe cluster (NOEU).

She joined Pandora in 2018 and has extensive experience within sales, marketing and merchandising in Spain and Portugal with a strong background in retail. Before joining Pandora, she held senior positions at The Body Shop, LVMH Fragrances Brands and El Corte Inglés.

CEO Alexander Lacik said: “Having built a very strong team in our NOEU cluster and driving impressive brand momentum in Germany, I’m certain that with Sonia to spearhead our efforts in BRIS, we’ll continue to drive strong brand momentum, give many more customers a world-class experience, and build our reputation as a full jewellery brand.”

Rasmus Brix, currently general manager of BRIS, is appointed SVP, global commercial operations at the company’s headquarters and will be moving to Copenhagen, Denmark.

As Pandora’s second largest cluster, the British Isles plays an important role in the global brand strategy and  continues to be a driver for innovation. In 2021, the UK was the pilot market for Pandora Lab-Grown Diamonds, a groundbreaking step in building Pandora’s reputation as a full jewellery house. In 2023, London was host to the esteemed Fashion Awards in partnership with Pandora, strengthening the brand’s credentials  and momentum in the UK and beyond.

Rasmus said: “The impressive results that the BRIS cluster continues to deliver are testament to the immense efforts of our  team members around the UK and Ireland. I’m so proud to have been part of such a strong organisation and look forward to seeing Sonia drive the brand even further forward in these markets.”

The announcement follows the appointment of Massimo Basei as new chief commercial officer from 1 April.

As CCO, Basei will take responsibility for Pandora’s nine market clusters. He will also continue to oversee the company’s retail excellence function, e-commerce, partner relations, merchandising, omnichannel network and omnichannel operations.

He initially joined Pandora as country manager for Italy in 2010. Since then, he took on additional responsibility to lead commercial operations across all Pandora’s markets in Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa before being promoted to chief of retail operations in 2023.

Lacik added: “As we continue to execute the next phase of our Phoenix strategy, we are consolidating responsibility for commercial operations and our clusters to set us up for further success. Massimo’s track record with Pandora over the past 13 years has been unmissable and I’m certain we’ll go even further in delivering world-class customer experiences under his leadership.”
