IEG launches #Safebusiness for jewellery shows

The Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) has announced the launch of its new #Safebusiness project in efforts to ensure its upcoming jewellery shows, Vicenzaoro and Oroarezzo can go ahead safely. IEG worked alongside its outfitting and catering companies, technicians and international operators in order to formulate the plan, and the project focuses on every phase in the trade show and conference events. The project provides over fifty guidelines as well as a “rigorous regulatory and organizational protocol upstream”. New measures include a sanitized shuttle transport between the airport, hotels and Expo Centres, all equipped with disinfectant, as well as the obligation to wear face masks on board and a fixed number of passengers. Ticket offices and payments will now be exclusively online, and entries will be scheduled according to hall capacity. Trade shows will also have extended show opening times, and face mask distribution desks will be in place. Multiple entrances, safety aisles and distancing signage will be implemented at all events, and temperature checks on the public using thermo scanners will be used. All areas, rooms and bathroom facilities will be sanitized on a continuous cycle, and digitalised informative material, multi-media productions and live streaming will be used to support events, conferences and the media. The IEG added that the entire outfitting supply chain will be “organized and managed in safety, and visitor flows will be monitored with centralized digital tracking and on-site controls by remotely guided stewards”. A strict crisis management protocol will also be established to define on-site behaviour should suspected cases occur”. In addition, all staff will undergo safety training.
